About Us
"About Us:
In our family, we navigate the journey of raising a Deaf transgender child. While numerous services, programs, and resources exist for transgender children and their families, many are not designed with Deaf families in mind. Our family relies on sign languages as our primary means of communication. Unfortunately, accessibility becomes virtually impossible for us as many organizations lack the means to provide sign language interpreters. The challenge extends to connecting with other families facing similar experiences, as language barriers often hinder opportunities for connection. When Deaf caregivers encounter such obstacles, it creates additional challenges for our children, particularly in a world that may not always be welcoming to transgender individuals.
Recognizing these barriers, we've created a space for families like ours who rely on sign language to come together and support our transgender children in becoming the individuals they deserve to be.
To liberate and uplift Deaf caregivers in supporting their transgender children by addressing linguistic-cultural barriers.
“It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen & visible in a world that tells us we should not exist.”
